Touch screen not Working on LineageOS 21 but working on 20

So I was trying to flash my lavender device with the newest version of the recovery and ROM. Flashed the ROM via sideload and it seemed successful. The Device starts normal and the display works. The only thing that is not working is the touch screen. Both in the 21 Recovery and the ROM.
After that I tried flashing the last 20 Recovery and ROM and everything was fine.
When doing a quick search on the internet I found out, that some Replacement LCDs only work with original ROM/Kernel. And I remembered I had replaced the screen of my device.
Might this be the issue and if it is could it be fixed by recompiling the kernel with some other drivers or something like that? I don't really know how this works and thought you might be able to help. :)
