More stores: origin, ubisoft #1768
Comments
In Playnite they have a Ubisoft plugin, maybe in their plugin is something that can help? |
Lutris and Playnite use the official binaries. |
Aw. Thanks for the aclaration, then I'll wait patiently. Thanks for the program is awesome and a life saver in Linux |
I'd also love this! With launchers becoming more and more resource hungry (Steam can use 2GB of memory easily, Ubi Launcher can use 2.5-3 and so on). Heroic is a godsend!! It's lightweigt and fast! just to play games without fuss!! |
UPlay is now supported. 🙂 For Origin, see this issue: So, we can close this one here 👍🏻 |
Correct me if I'm wrong - you can play games that require Ubisoft Connect Launcher but unlike with Epic Games/GOG/Amazon Games, Heroic is not a Ubisoft Connect replacement and you can't install games directly from your Ubisoft Connect account which is what this issue is requesting. Similarly, #2859 is requesting the ability to play games that require an EA app client and does not request for Heroic to become an EA app alternative (which this issue does). |
You mean that I can access the ubisoft store inside heroic and install my ubisoft connect games or I can install my epic or gog games with mandatory ubisoft launcher? Because if it is the second one the petition it's not solved |
You are both correct 👍🏻 |
To clarify, the only stores supported natively as of now are: Epic, GOG, and Amazon. Other launchers can be installed as sideloaded app, and most Epic games that require the Ubisoft launcher will install that automatically, but it's not the same as supporting the Ubisoft store |
Are there any plans to add uplay support any time soon? |
It isn't that simple. You need to defeat protections against reverse engineering and analyse a Blackbox then you need to build your own tool to replicate the original launchers requests. |
On a side note, for those who don't wanna upgrade to the EA App which is apparently riddled with issues, you might wanna try https://github.com/p0358/Fuck_off_EA_App |
Problem description
First off, congratulations on the already excellent software.
It would be great if eventually more stores would be added, like origin and ubisoft, etc.
Best regards
