SRRecorderControl implements IB_DESIGNABLE. For some reason Interface Builder in Xcode 9 (or older?) ignores the isFlipped property for drawing in layout. The result looks like this:

Looks like this only happens when superview has Core Animation Layer in Interface Builder is enabled

The issue was fixed in Xcode 9.2
