As part of the plan to deprecate these packages, we will eventually be able to remove the source for these packages from the main branch.

As part of the v12 release, a v11 branch will be created to house the v11.x releases moving forward. Development in main will correspond to v12.x releases. Once the v11 branch has been created, the source for carbon-components and carbon-components-react can be deleted from main. The source for these packages will live on in the v11 branch. Future patch releases to carbon-components@11.x and carbon-components-react@8.x will be cut from the v11 branch.
