Is Your Feature Request Related To A Problem? Please describe.

Now that choco supports SemVer2, people will be tempted to push such packages in the community repository but it is not supported right now.

Describe The Solution. Why is it needed?

Please support SemVer2 in the Chocolatey Community Repository.

Additional Context

I wanted to bring SemVer2 support to AU (see chocolatey-community/chocolatey-au#29) but it doesn't really make sense if the community repo does not also support it.

Thanks for raising this.

We intend to add this support but to set expectations we haven't investigated what work is needed so this is not going to be soon.
