On mac: received error - unable to self-register - when trying to install atom-ctags. Opened atom with sudo and was able to install without error. Added ~/.ctags per your readme. However, no luck in doing actual look up. alt+cmd+down arrow, shift+cmd+R results in "No symbols found". Would be nice to have step-by-step. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I was actually just doing this too. You have to reload atom after installing atom-ctags. open the console (developer > toggle developer tools) and look for other errors.

It really is a mess. I'm surprised there is no better ctags supporting package.
