Feature description

Now that #8627 is merged, we can also leverage it's validation features to catch bad user input. In particular, the new 1.0 version of it has some cool stuff.

This is mostly a note to myself to not forget to do this as I'm about to head out on a long camping trip, and want to be sure to pick this up when I return.
