Sales and Marketing Director at Draft.dev

$250,000 on target earnings, full-time

If you're an experienced sales and marketing team leader, this position is a fantastic opportunity to help scale a quickly-growing service business.

As our Sales and Marketing Director, you'll get the opportunity to guide the growth and impact of sales and marketing operations at Draft.dev and be responsible for managing our budding marketing and sales teams. You'll run day-to-day sales operations, oversee inbound and outbound marketing campaigns, and drive lead generation with the support of your team. Our ideal candidate is a true sales and marketing hybrid, experienced in launching and optimizing digital campaigns and coaching our sales team to perfect their pitch.

Draft.dev is a content marketing agency focused on creating in-depth, technical content for growing technology startups. We work with subject matter experts from around the world to create tutorials, blog posts, and e-books for our clients. Founded in 2020, we're small, but have grown from 0 to 90 clients in just two years with plans to double again over the next two years.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Oversee existing marketing efforts to drive traffic and calls
  • Maintain our inbound marketing strategy (content, referrals, and social media) and team to maximize the sales pipeline
  • Run tests on new growth tactics (outbound, paid ads, webinars, etc.)
  • Build relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry experts to drive awareness
  • Sit in on sales calls to help improve our processes
  • Hire, train, and grow our marketing and sales teams
  • Help develop new service offerings to increase revenue opportunities
  • Contribute to executive-level business decisions with the CEO and leadership team

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in sales and marketing roles
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Familiarity with high-touch, relationship-based sales
  • Native-level English writing and speaking skills
  • Work availability in US or EU time zones

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past developer relations and marketing industry experience
  • Previous experience building sales teams at productized services or agencies

Perks:

  • Flexible hours, location, and mostly asynchronous work (no travel required, although if you want to make events part of our strategy, we have budget for it)
  • $150,000/year base pay rate with on target earnings of $100,000/year
  • Report directly to Draft.dev's CEO and Founder
  • Help shape the direction of a quickly growing small business

Hiring Process:

  1. Submit your application.
  2. Top candidates will join a 30-minute screening call to learn about your experience and the role.
  3. Next, you'll meet with the other directors to learn about the leadership structure and who you'll work with regularly.
  4. Finally, you'll complete a paid trial assignment with a final presentation to our sales and marketing team.
