Sharing a password is something I have come across frequently.

For example, we often have clients who need us to help with things like updating the records in their domain providers.

In the past I have told them to change the password to something temporary and share both with us in a google doc (with meticulous care for the settings). They then change the password again as soon as the objective has been met.

But what is the safest way to share this information?
