Sense is essentially the console for Elasticsearch, it makes "sense" (pun explicitly intended) to ship it as a default app for Kibana. We've also discussed turning the Sense editor pane into a library so we can use the knowledge base throughout Kibana. To get this started we should move sense into the Kibana repo and ship it by default. Then over time tease out the library.

  • Ship Sense as a default app in Kibana
  • Change the name of Sense to Console

As part of this ticket, we should also include updating the QA plan to include sense console.

That make sense... I can't help myself.

Thank god for changing the name to console. Talking about sense makes no sense.

+1 for this...

Maybe this is repeated from other issues, but it will be great to be able to open Console no matter if the .kibana index is ready or works.. Given that you can query any Elasticsearch instance, we could just open Console if we want without any health check.
