Description

This issue is for updating our Elastic AI Assistant Knowledge Base docs to include a note that users must delete the previous Knowledge Base and re-initialize to ensure that the latest documentation is used within the Knowledge Base.

This must be done manually at the moment when documentation is updated (like in elastic/kibana#176353), or when ELSER versions are updated (as previous ELSER embeddings are not forward-compatible).

To update, the user just needs to click Delete next to Knowledge Base in Settings

and then either toggle the KB off/on

OR click Initialize for both Knowledge Base and ES|QL KB Docs

At this point, the latest documents will be loaded in the Knowledge Base. Note, currently there is no in-app indication that there is an update to the KB docs, but there will be a release note indicating the KB has been updates as produced from the originating PR: e.g. elastic/kibana#176353.

We are aiming to remove all this complexity from the user by shipping (and auto-installing) KB updates via integrations. Please see elastic/package-spec#693 for details. This isn't expected to land till 8.14+ as an experimental feature.
