Steps to reproduce

Server OS: Ubuntu Server 22.04 x86_64 5.15.0-53-generic
Synapse version: matrixdotorg/synapse:latest

Client OS: Kubuntu 22.04 x86_64 5.15.0-53-generic
installed from repository
Element version: 1.11.15
Olm version: 3.2.12

I have been running Synapse + Postgres + Redis + Coturn + Element-Web via docker for the past year. So far worked pretty much flawlessly. Updated my containers on 2022/11/30, including a switch from Postgres 1v4 to v15. Exported the database in the v14 container, recreated a v15 container, imported the database. Everything seemed to work.

Today I noticed that in Element-Desktop only, during a 1:1 matrix call, screen sharing is somehow borked.

If I click on 'share your screen' I can select either the whole desktop or just an app as usual, but when I click the start sharing button, nothing happens. The selection window disappears, and I am returned to the normal call window. There are no errors displayed. The same behavior is observed on three different machines. Clearing cache and reloading does not fix the issue. 'sudo apt purge element-desktop' and reinstalling did nothing.

On one of the non-working machines, I opened Element-Web in Firefox and successfully shared my screen. The same is true for Element on Android.

Screen sharing is only non-functioning on Element-Desktop, on 3 different machines.

I checked the client and server logs and couldn't find anything. I'm stumped.
