Hi,
an attacker from outside can open the door if he short the 12V on the RFID Reader. Or can kill the electronic by over voltage on the RFID reader pins.

Its better to use the NC pins from the relay. It saves power and if an attacker kills the MCU the door is closed.

Well, true but this is not made for such an environment. And, i don't see which RFID reader and relay board is protected from that @hexxter ?

RFID_ESP32_schema.pdf

i have make a short schema with fixes for attackes against the RFID Reader part and cables.
If you short the power (12V) the fuse will break. If you commit power on ground then the diode should help. The other lines are protected via optocopler.

I use an esp32 on my example ;o)

What do you think?

Well, that's great. Polarity protection and isolation is definitely a good thing to add too.

Mine ESP32 version is in progress.. some more things to complete, the complete integration is bit of a problem.
