Environment

  • OS Version: 24.04
  • Source or binary build? source build, gz-gui9

Description

  • Expected behavior: Loading a gui client config file should work fine and the render window should continue to display the 3D scene properly
  • Actual behavior: The 3D scene becomes gray / blank

Steps to reproduce

  1. launch gz-sim as usual, e.g. gz sim shapes.sdf
  2. Save client configuration by going to top left menu and select Save client configuration as, and give it a name, e.g. test_gui.config
  3. Shut down gz sim and relaunch it
  4. Go to the top left menu and select Load client configuration and choose the saved gui config file
  5. The 3D scene becomes gray

Is this a regression? I believe I tested loading the saved configuration with the recent GUI config changes, but not the "save as" path.

I just tested this on harmonic and I get the same issue. Also tried loading the default ~/.gz/sim/9/gui.config and gives me the same gray 3D scene.
