  • Terminal Emulator: kitty
  • Shell: zsh
  • Custom desktop opener (if applicable):
  • Program options used: none
  • Configuration options set: none
  • Plugins are installed
  • Issue exists on nnn master

Exact steps to reproduce the issue

  • open nnn
  • search for something with /

In this three screenshots you can see how it looks like on my machine. Maybe the issue is somehow related to #1692 ? I have the same issue as described there. But for this bug here I compiled nnn without any flags and still have the rendering issues for the search results. I also tried v4.7 and the issue is also there. So it's not just related to v4.8.

Can't reproduce on linux/glibc.

When exactly did the issue start happening? Did you upgrade ncurses recently? If so, can you try with a downgraded ncurses?

When exactly did the issue start happening?

Good question. I don't know exactly to be honest. After some of the latest macOS updates but I don't know exactly when and why. I just know that this was not the case not so long time ago and that nnn is the only CLI tool with this issue. All others (nvim, lazygit, xplr and so on are not affected)

https://github.com/jarun/nnn/wiki/Developer-guides#compile-for-macos (LDLIBS="-L/opt/homebrew/opt/ncurses/lib/" make) did the trick for me 👍

The only thing that's still not working is #1692. Apart from that, all good 🙂
