Added preliminary drivers for "newt" (--with-newt) and GTK+
(--with-gtk/--with-gtk2); added THANKS and AUTHORS files. Added a
driver for Borland-style CONIO (--with-conio), a driver for Digital
Mars-style <disp.h> (--with-disp), and a driver for Open Watcom-style
graph.h (--with-graph).
Classic BSD curses now works, thanks to a the FIONREAD ioctl. Just
configure --with-bsdcurses. MyMan has been ported to OpenVMS, thanks
to the generous owners of http://deathrow.vistech.net/ and also to
HP/Compaq whose hobby license made this possible, and to some kind and
patient VMS experts on IRC who knew the ins and outs of QIO. See
utl/vmsbuild.com or run "@[.utl]vmsbuild" (no quotes) if you're using
DCL with no gnv.

Monolithic (compiled-in tile, sprite and maze data) is now the only
configuration supported by "configure" and "Makefile". Non-monolithic
builds can still be made using "simple.mk".
Added a new variant (--variant=kpacman) inspired by Jörg Thönnissen's
Kpacman, another new variant (--variant=mspp) inspired by Ms Pac Plus,
and yet another new variant (--variant=kasper) inspired by the
'Puckman' level for Liquid War by Kasper (low line) Hviid (at) hotmail
(dot) com. Added many other new variants, too.
Now all the data files (mazes, tiles and sprites) are stored in
UTF-8. Only the CP437-alike subset of Unicode is supported, other
characters are treated as space (U+0020). There is a conversion tool
(asc2txt.py) to aid in maze creation. The data files contain all
parameters, so a single MyMan executable can load any maze file, tile
file, and/or sprite file. This means myman.c is compiled twice rather
than 150+ times, which saves a lot of CPU time and disk space.
In addition to HTML screenshots, UTF-8 plain text screenshots are now
generated.
Added a libcaca backend (--with-libcaca). libcaca is the Colour AsCii
Art library; see http://sam.zoy.org/libcaca/ for details, downloads,
etc.
Added an AA-Lib backend (--with-aalib). AA-Lib is a grayscale
Ascii-Art library; see
http://zoehep.xent.com/~bsittler/myman-0.7pre4.tar.gz for details.
Added a "raw" backend (--with-raw) that uses no external libraries and
displays on Win32 console, most UNIX terminals, and various Atari ST
operating systems.
Added an Allegro backend (--with-allegro). Allegro is a cross-platfrom
general-purpose game-programming library; see
http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/ for details.
Added a LibGGI/LibGII backend (--with-ggi). GGI is a cross-platform
General Graphics Interface library; see http://www.ggi-project.org/
for details.
Added a Twin backend (--with-twin). Twin is a text-mode windowing
system; see http://twin.sourceforce.net/ for details.
Added a Carbon/Toolbox backend, optionally using ATSUI
(--with-mac/--with-mac-unicode).
Added a PDCurses/SDL (--with-pdcursessdl) backend, including SDL mixer
support (--with-sdl-mixer) inspired by "Spot"'s Amiga OS4 port.

Added a new size (--size=huge) based on the original 1998 MyMan
sources. The tiles and sprites are even larger than the "big"
size, and the ghosts have a very cartoonish look.
There's a new configure option (--enable-monolithic) to build a single
larger executable rather than a whole bunch of smaller
executables. Built this way, the myman binary will work regardless of
where it's moved.

Now UCS/Unicode terminals work, provided your curses supports them
too; tested with ncurses (wide character version) -- configure with
`--with-ncursesw' to use this; also added support for the UTF-8
version of S/Lang's curses emulation -- configure with
`--with-slang-utf8' to use this. Wrote a little more
documentation. String-quoting is mostly fixed in configure, Makefile
and generated manual pages. Now our main Makefile requires a very
recent version of GNU Make (3.80) to run, so there's a much simpler
one (simple.mk) to get people started in older versions of Make.
Added a new variant (--variant=tiny) for tiny screens.

Improved portability and diagnostics; added experimental HTML
screenshot support (press the T key to generate snap####.html, where
#### is a four-digit sequence number); improved support for PDCurses
for X (a.k.a. XCurses) -- configure with `--with-xcurses' to use this;
added support for S/Lang's curses emulation -- configure with
`--with-slang' to use this; allow run-time toggling of dot/power
pellet appearance (press the O or 0 key or start with -o/-p), plain
ASCII-art/altcharset graphics (press the A key, or start with -a/-A),
and raw CP437/terminal-native altcharset graphics (press the X key, or
start with -r/-R)

Added a new variant (--variant=quackman) with corresponding tiles and
sprites (--size=quack); also added support for multiple-level mazes,
although so far this is used only in one variant (chomp).
Added new 1x1 tiles and sprites for fonts with nearly-square aspect
ratio, e.g. linux console in 8x9-pixel font (--size=square).
Various minor improvements (manpage, installation/packaging, bourne
shell/sed/gnu make portability, etc.)

Binary distributions seem to work ('make bindist'), and there is now a
manpage for myman (first added in myman 0.3).

MyMan is no longer in the public domain. It is now distributed
under a BSD-style license (see LICENSE for details.)
There is now a minimal functioning `configure' system, although
cross-compilation does not work yet (both intermediate and final
stages are built with the same tools.)
The build system now creates a `myman' wrapper and individual
executables for each maze/tileset combination. If you want to use the
wrapper, you must install the individual executables in the proper
directory (/usr/local/libexec/myman-X.Y, changeable using the
GAMElibexecdir Makefile parameter.) Use `make install' to install the
wrapper and the individual executables; a later `make uninstall' will
remove them.
