Are you using the latest MineColonies Verison?

  • I am running the latest alpha version of MineColonies for my Minecraft version.

Did you check on the Wiki? or ask on Discord?

  • I checked the MineColonies Wiki and made sure my issue is not covered there. Or I was sent from discord to open an issue here.

Current Behavior

Builder died while building level 3 of the Tavern (Lost Mesa City).

Expected Behavior

first - don't put a campfire in front of the door way where any colonist can die. They should be smart enough to walk around them, but it would simply be better not to put the campfire there in the first place.

Reproduction Steps

Put a tavern down and see if the builder commits suicide during the level 3 (or sooner) build

I had same issue, but in Residence during upgrade, happened twice. I now always put some slab near 'entrance' to campfire.

Had a similar issue with the Pagoda style where the placed campfire would result in all the visitors killing themselves at the beginning or end of a day as they walked to/from the chairs that were placed near it. In the end I needed to either remove the campfire or fully enclose it as the pathfinding always resulted in the visitors walking through it on the way to/from the chairs

Just annoying that they walk into fire during the early stagings of building. Was expecting they would be smart enough to avoid it, but guess they are as dumb as vanilla villagers. :-)

Today I lost two builders due to their suicidal behavior. When building shire residence (placing torches), builder went up on roof and jumped down the chimney right into the campfire. I placed a panel to close off that chimney. Next day another builder "continued" the job - went up on the chimney and removed that panel right from under his feet.

This is a really serious problem - colonists tend to jump down all holes they can see. It doesn't matter, if there's nothing to do there, or if it's dangerous. They just have to do it.

AI will never have the brain similar to an actual player. We can't possibly take every single little thing into account, our AI's would get way too complex and fail more often than not.
