This makes it harder to discover instance of this fork by any automated means or through pod-tracking tools.

The version currently advertised is 0.7.99.0 which is as placeholder in upstream code for when what's running isn't a tagged release. Appending something like -magicstone to the reported version number seems to be a common convention.
