Sur le site Apache Friends, XAMPP est conseillé pour les développeurs mais non recommandé en production.
Par ailleurs, Xampp ne supporte plus Mysql ce qui peut être un inconvenient si ta base de données est importante
Pour ma part j'utilise sous windows Wampserver, c'est gratuit et l'installation ne pose pas de problème
