Feature scope

Taps (catalog, state, stream maps, tests, etc.)

Description

This would allow tap developers to easily develop support third-party "filesystem" sources by implementing the interface.

The interface would have to support at least:

  • Walking down a directory tree to discover files and nested directories
  • Read the contents of a file
  • Get some file metadata if available (modified time, Content-Type)
  • Handle compression

Note

There's probably more requirements, so I'll add them here while I'm working on the implementation.
