Steps to reproduce

1. Place large files in the SMB External Share

Expected behaviour

Tell us what should happen
When i place files in the SMB share to says syning but never syncs and if i look at my error log it should the below error.

Should be fixed by #27631. Please try the patch.

The return type for NativeState.getxattr should be string|false as smbclient_getxattr could return false on failure.
