Just collecting thoughts on potential use cases, it would be nice to log when a hot reload or a hot restart happens - these serve as good markers to separate events into pre- and post hen the reload happened.

I added a label suggesting that this should be in Flutter source but it occurs to me that it doesn't strictly have to be.

Either way: thoughts on a channel name? Should we have a broad "lifecycle" category? Or get more specific?

Good question - I don't know. I would be something that shows up as a category that people could filter by. Perhaps just flutter for general framework events? flutter.frame is useful as a separate category, given bow verbose they can be.
