NOAA Natural Color attempts to provide more lifelike imagery on NOAA satellites that typically do not transmit the 1.62 µm short wave infrared channel used by the Natural Color enhancement.
Land appears green (vegetated areas) or gray (deserts), while sea appears blue. Clouds appear white. Fog appears whitish-gray.
General purpose imagery at daytime.
Hard to determine the cloud nature. Cannot discriminate between cirrus clouds and fog.
