I had several setups on devices where I resolved to custom scripts to find my problems. Often those involved blocked dns requests and / or vpns. I also have seen other posts where a lot of problems are related with vpns.

It would be helpful to have (a) field(s) somewhere in settings

  • to open ports (eg 853, ...)
  • allow specific ips (eg for name servers, vpn, ...)

This is not intended to water down security but for troubleshooting if something is not working.

A question: is it possible to also show blocked dns requests in the protocol? I have sometimes the feeling they are not shown and the browser only says connection not possible.

Anyway AFwall is a great app. Thanks for it!
