The IPNS address listed at /ipfs.html is seemingly out-of-date #42

It cannot be resolved, but the domain name points to /ipfs/QmPQDL1LUkgTYQY2kHrhrR7rP5Fu1Y3mEgshJo5oRQ5tCz/, which does work.

This is apparently the new link /ipns/12D3KooWB3GY1u6zMLqnf3MJ8zhX3SS1oBj7VXk3xp6sJJiFGZXp but i cant get it to resolve

Have you heard of Hypercore? I've found it's a lot faster than IPFS, at least for me.
