unable to unmount device, stuck with unwanted folder

I tried to use this as this was one of the options mentioned on the Arch Wiki, so I downloaded this and gave it a try. Firstly, it didn't let me mount. However, after creating a temporary folder in my home directory I remounted again and now am stuck with a directory that errors out with "Transport endpoint is not connected" every time. Unable to remove directory as root, ls -Al shows

d?????????  ? ?   ?      ?            ?  mnt

and overall there is NO option documented for unmounting or getting rid of a folder like that.
Please help
