Setting Host Attributes via Ansible

I'ld like to set the Host Attributes via the collection as those are historically used to enable certain Checks on the hosts. Is that possible or is this only possible with tags?

If so could I change the rules to match on tags instead of Attributes?

I am sorry, I did not see this.
As of now, you can only manage host tags with the collection and I do not see custom attributes making their way into the collection soon. It might, maybe someone even wants to implement it themselves, but we have no focus on it.
