This Chrome extension allows you to select text on web pages and have it read aloud using the browser's text-to-speech capabilities.
- Clone or download this repository to your local machine.
- Open Google Chrome and go to
chrome://extensions
. - Enable the "Developer mode" toggle on the top right corner.
- Click on "Load unpacked" and select the folder where you cloned/downloaded the extension.
- The extension will be added to Chrome and ready for use.
- Browse to any web page in Chrome.
- Select the desired text on the page by clicking and dragging the cursor.
- Click the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar.
- The selected text will be read aloud using the browser's text-to-speech capabilities.
- Select any text on a web page and have it read aloud.
- Uses the default text-to-speech engine provided by the browser.
- Supports multiple languages and voices based on the browser's configuration.
- The text-to-speech capabilities depend on the browser's native support, so voice options and quality may vary.
- The extension currently supports Google Chrome only.
