Detailed description of the problem

I tried to update my v5.4 to v5.5 twice today. I received the following error message after logging in:

HttpException
Target [Illuminate\Database\Migrations\MigrationRepositoryInterface] is not instantiable while building [App\Console\Commands\Laravel\MigrateFresh, Illuminate\Database\Migrations\Migrator].

What is the problem and what can I do about it?

For the time being I'll revert to v5.4.0

Can you describe your process here?

I think the problem is that you are overwriting the files. But in this specific case, there are some files that need to be removed (hence why it is breaking).
In summary, you can nuke the full app folder and replace it with folder from the release archive.

Yes, that's it! Now it works. So far I have only overwritten the old version with the new one.
