Both XeLaTeX and LuaTeX engines has setmainfont command and provide TNR font. Switching to an engine other than LaTeX needs compatibility checks for future conflicts prevention.

I don’t know if such PR can be considered correct for repository dedicated to LaTeX typeset, but it may have a sense if rendering cyrillic in different styles gives result similar to proprietary fonts render with Microsoft Print to PDF printer.

Некоторое время преамбула крутилась в виде копипасты между проектами. Последний вариант содержит переход на XeLaTeX и будет использован для актуализации.
