When running:
aws ec2 describe-security-groups --group-names gateway --filters Name=vpc-id,Values=vpc-43d3ck22 --region eu-west-1 --profile int
I get:
A client error (InvalidGroup.NotFound) occurred when calling the DescribeSecurityGroups operation: The security group 'gateway' does not exist in default VPC 'vpc-91bbv6f3'

Of course, I can use a filter 'group-name', however help is not indicating that the mentioned argument is only for default vpc's.

I believe this should be fixed now. Both the ec2 api docs and the cli reference docs/man pages now note that this is only for EC2-Classic and the default VPC.
