Software

Latest Improvements:

  • Improved app UI handling when network connection fluctuates.
  • Redesigned auto framing to pan more naturally and fluidly, when your head is near the bounding frame.
  • Improved the blur function to reduce artifacting and ghosting, especially when moving around.
  • A handful of default settings were tweaked for better performance and quality.
  • Fixed a rare driver installation issue where camera output may appear black. Issue first detected in 4.1.2211.2501.

4.1 Changes:

  • Integrated 1080p output for higher definition camera quality.
  • Multiple outputs introduced to enable VCam to be used in multiple software at the same time. Very useful for podcasts!
  • New models that improve the IOU (Intersection over Union) to ~0.97, when compared against a manually masked out ground truth. This represents a significant improvement on previous models.
  • Improved calibration time and performance. You should now calibrate twice as fast as prior versions, in most cases.
  • A number of performance fixes and quality of life improvements, for a better VCam experience.

Known Issues

  • Background may not be correctly removed in OBS and XSplit Broadcaster, when auto framing is enabled. A fix is being developed.
  • Auto framing may not behave correctly when used in conjunction with some settings. We are working on identifying and resolving all related issues.
  • VCam may incorrectly initialize in some teller software. We understand the cause of this issue, and will be addressed in an update very soon.
  • On log out, VCam will keep sending the virtual camera feed to the application using it. Quit VCam to stop the feed.
  • Using VCam in BlueJeans may initially show VCam feed as upside down. To resolve the issue, log in to your BlueJeans app, then restart BlueJeans.
  • Crashes may happen when running on systems with older Intel drivers.
Workarounds: Run Intel driver updater from https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
  • On systems when the auto updater fails due to vendor locked driver, you may manually have to download and install the latest Intel driver

  • Sometimes VCam is prevented from running due to a faulty OpenCL configuration.
