When reviewing cityofaustin/atd-moped#1363, I noticed that it can be tough to read our secondary text color. We use #848484 while the MUI default is #666666 which has better contrast score - our secondary vs. MUI default. Updating this color would bring us into the range recommended by WCAG for normal text (4.5:1 or higher) and make the app more accessible.

Thoughts

  • This would be an app-wide change so that should be considered.
  • The Main view tab headers (Dashboard, Projects, Staff) use this secondary color too.
  • There are probably more components and maybe even maps that use this color so we should check.
