Feature request: Button for "delete and re-draft" (like in Mastodon) #1834
Comments
Sry, someone just told me that you can go through your post history by pressing "arrow-up" on keyboard which is basically what I wanted. Edit: reopened because of #1834 |
Reopened because this is not a good solution for mobile clients. |
This is Element Web, if you have issues with the mobile clients then this isn't the place for them. |
You are right, but actually a "delete & re-draft" button would be great for element web as well (even though there is the mentioned workaround) because such a "delete & redraft"-button would be much more easy to use I think. |
Hi,
this is related to element-hq/element-web#1862 but a slightly different request:
Mastodon has an option for published messages called "delete & re-draft". Using this option a published message will be deleted directly and its content is placed in the editor again so that you can edit the content without the need of copy&paste.
This would be very useful for Riot as another option next to the reply button because sometimes you notice that editing a message will take more time as expected but you don't want the people to read your unedited content while editing it.
A re-draft would be great because sometimes you have a lot of markdown format entries in a message which are not copied if you just copy the content of a message when you use copy -> delete -> paste -> edit -> post as workaround for a "delete and re-draft".
