A text selection should be always, anywhere, instantly recognizable as such by providing increased or even high contrast to the rest of the color theme, above all the copy text. The current selection only hints a slight light grey behind the default black foreground color:

This provokes eye strain and having to make a wild guess on whether or not something is selected.
The commit changes the background color to a purple taken from the Grav doc menu and foreground white:
