This will just bump odroid-3.0.y to 3.0.57. No major changes, only fixes, mainly stuff we don't use on odroid.

But there are a few things in mm/ which can be interesting for us.

bf->bf_next is only while buffers are chained as part of an A-MPDU
in the tx queue. When a tid queue is flushed (e.g. on tearing down
an aggregation session), frames can be enqueued again as normal
transmission, without bf_next being cleared. This can lead to the
old pointer being dereferenced again later.

This patch might fix crashes and "Failed to stop TX DMA!" messages.

Some hardware has correct (!= 0xff) value of tssi_bounds[4] in the
EEPROM, but step is equal to 0xff. This results on ridiculous delta
calculations and completely broke TX power settings.

If the call to core_dev_release_virtual_lun0() fails, then nothing
sets ret to anything other than 0, so even though everything is
torn down and freed, target_core_init_configfs() will seem to succeed
and the module will be loaded.  Fix this by passing the return value
on up the chain.

No driver initializes chan->max_antenna_gain to something sensible, and
the only place where it is being used right now is inside ath9k. This
leads to ath9k potentially using less tx power than it can use, which can
decrease performance/range in some rare cases.

Rather than going through every single driver, this patch initializes
chan->orig_mag in wiphy_register(), ignoring whatever value the driver
left in there. If a driver for some reason wishes to limit it independent
from regulatory rulesets, it can do so internally.

The mesh header can have address extension by a 4th
or a 5th and 6th address, but never both. Drop such
frames in 802.11 -> 802.3 conversion along with any
frames that have the wrong extension.

Per IEEE Std. 802.11-2012, Sec 8.2.4.4.1, the sequence Control field is
not present in control frames.  We noticed this problem when processing
Block Ack Requests.

Due to pskb_may_pull() checking the skb length, all
non-management frames are checked on input whether
their 802.11 header is fully present. Also add that
check for management frames and remove a check that
is now duplicate. This prevents accessing skb data
beyond the frame end.

The 'ssid' field of the cfg80211_ibss_params is a u8 pointer and
its length is likely to be less than IEEE80211_MAX_SSID_LEN most
of the time.

This patch fixes the ssid copy in ieee80211_ibss_join() by using
the SSID length to prevent it from reading beyond the string.

In very busy v3 environment, rpc.mountd can respond to the NULL
procedure but not the MNT procedure in a timely manner causing
the MNT procedure to time out. The problem is the mount system
call returns EIO which causes the mount to fail, instead of
ETIMEDOUT, which would cause the mount to be retried.

This patch sets the RPC_TASK_SOFT|RPC_TASK_TIMEOUT flags to
the rpc_call_sync() call in nfs_mount() which causes
ETIMEDOUT to be returned on timed out connections.

Since commit c7f404b ('vfs: new superblock methods to override
/proc/*/mount{s,info}'), nfs_path() is used to generate the mounted
device name reported back to userland.

nfs_path() always generates a trailing slash when the given dentry is
the root of an NFS mount, but userland may expect the original device
name to be returned verbatim (as it used to be).  Make this
canonicalisation optional and change the callers accordingly.

The DNS resolver's use of the sunrpc cache involves a 'ttl' number
(relative) rather that a timeout (absolute).  This confused me when
I wrote
  commit c5b29f8
     "sunrpc: use seconds since boot in expiry cache"

and I managed to break it.  The effect is that any TTL is interpreted
as 0, and nothing useful gets into the cache.

This patch removes the use of get_expiry() - which really expects an
expiry time - and uses get_uint() instead, treating the int correctly
as a ttl.

This fixes a regression that has been present since 2.6.37, causing
certain NFS accesses in certain environments to incorrectly fail.

This Oops affects 3.5 kernels and older, and is due to lookup_one_len()
calling down to the dentry revalidation code with a NULL pointer
to struct nameidata.

It is fixed upstream by commit 0b728e1 (stop passing nameidata *
to ->d_revalidate())

Don't assume bank 0 is selected at device probe time. This may not be
the case. Force bank selection at first register access to guarantee
that we read the right registers upon driver loading.

Close some races at disconnection of a USB audio device by adding the
chip->shutdown_mutex and chip->shutdown check at appropriate places.

The spots to put bandaids are:
- PCM prepare, hw_params and hw_free
- where the usb device is accessed for communication or get speed, in
 mixer.c and others; the device speed is now cached in subs->speed
 instead of accessing to chip->dev

The accesses in PCM open and close don't need the mutex protection
because these are already handled in the core PCM disconnection code.

The autosuspend/autoresume codes are still uncovered by this patch
because of possible mutex deadlocks.  They'll be covered by the
upcoming change to rwsem.

Also the mixer codes are untouched, too.  These will be fixed in
another patch, too.

For more strict protection for wild disconnections, a refcount is
introduced to the card instance, and let it up/down when an object is
referred via snd_lookup_*() in the open ops.

The free-after-last-close check is also changed to check this refcount
instead of the empty list, too.

On some suspend/resume operations involving wimax device, we have
noticed some intermittent memory corruptions in netlink code.

Stéphane Marchesin tracked this corruption in netlink_update_listeners()
and suggested a patch.

It appears netlink_release() should use kfree_rcu() instead of kfree()
for the listeners structure as it may be used by other cpus using RCU
protection.

netlink_release() must set to NULL the listeners pointer when
it is about to be freed.

Also have to protect netlink_update_listeners() and
netlink_has_listeners() if listeners is NULL.

Add a nl_deref_protected() lockdep helper to properly document which
locks protects us.

tcp_ioctl() tries to take into account if tcp socket received a FIN
to report correct number bytes in receive queue.

But its flaky because if the application ate the last skb,
we return 1 instead of 0.

Correct way to detect that FIN was received is to test SOCK_DONE.

Commit a02e4b7(Demark default hoplimit as zero) only changes the
hoplimit checking condition and default value in ip6_dst_hoplimit, not
zeros all hoplimit default value.

Keep the zeroing ip6_template_metrics[RTAX_HOPLIMIT - 1] to force it as
const, cause as a37e6e3(net: force dst_default_metrics to const
section)

Driver anchors the tx urbs and defers the urb submission if
a transmit request comes when the interface is suspended.
Anchoring urb increments the urb reference count. These
deferred urbs are later accessed by calling usb_get_from_anchor()
for submission during interface resume. usb_get_from_anchor()
unanchors the urb but urb reference count remains same.
This causes the urb reference count to remain non-zero
after usb_free_urb() gets called and urb never gets freed.
Hence call usb_put_urb() after anchoring the urb to properly
balance the reference count for these deferred urbs. Also,
unanchor these deferred urbs during disconnect, to free them
up.

Reading TCP stats when using TCP Illinois congestion control algorithm
can cause a divide by zero kernel oops.

The division by zero occur in tcp_illinois_info() at:
 do_div(t, ca->cnt_rtt);
where ca->cnt_rtt can become zero (when rtt_reset is called)

Steps to Reproduce:
 1. Register tcp_illinois:
     # sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_congestion_control=illinois
 2. Monitor internal TCP information via command "ss -i"
     # watch -d ss -i
 3. Establish new TCP conn to machine

Either it fails at the initial conn, or else it needs to wait
for a loss or a reset.

This is only related to reading stats.  The function avg_delay() also
performs the same divide, but is guarded with a (ca->cnt_rtt > 0) at its
calling point in update_params().  Thus, simply fix tcp_illinois_info().

Function tcp_illinois_info() / get_info() is called without
socket lock.  Thus, eliminate any race condition on ca->cnt_rtt
by using a local stack variable.  Simply reuse info.tcpv_rttcnt,
as its already set to ca->cnt_rtt.
Function avg_delay() is not affected by this race condition, as
its called with the socket lock.

When creating an L2TPv3 Ethernet session, if register_netdev() should fail for
any reason (for example, automatic naming for "l2tpeth%d" interfaces hits the
32k-interface limit), the netdev is freed in the error path.  However, the
l2tp_eth_sess structure's dev pointer is left uncleared, and this results in
l2tp_eth_delete() then attempting to unregister the same netdev later in the
session teardown.  This results in an oops.

To avoid this, clear the session dev pointer in the error path.

The voice allocator sometimes begins allocating from near the end of the
array and then wraps around, however snd_emu10k1_pcm_channel_alloc()
accesses the newly allocated voices as if it never wrapped around.

This results in out of bounds access if the first voice has a high enough
index so that first_voice + requested_voice_count > NUM_G (64).
The more voices are requested, the more likely it is for this to occur.

This was initially discovered using PipeWire, however it can be reproduced
by calling aplay multiple times with 16 channels:

There is a race condition in vxlan that when deleting a vxlan device
during receiving packets, there is a possibility that the sock is
released after getting vxlan_sock vs from sk_user_data. Then in

In 3cb4d5e ("perf trace: Free syscall tp fields in
evsel->priv") it only was freeing if strcmp(evsel->tp_format->system,
"syscalls") returned zero, while the corresponding initialization of
evsel->priv was being performed if it was _not_ zero, i.e. if the tp
system wasn't 'syscalls'.

Just stop looking for that and free it if evsel->priv was set, which
should be equivalent.

Also use the pre-existing evsel_trace__delete() function.

This resolves these leaks, detected with:

While debugging a segfault on 'perf lock contention' without an
available perf.data file I noticed that it was basically calling:

The issue was the use of testing a cpumap with NULL rather than using
empty, as a map containing the dummy value isn't NULL and the -1
results in an empty aggr map being allocated which legitimately
overflows when any member is accessed.

When scanning namespaces, it is possible to get valid data from the first
call to nvme_identify_ns() in nvme_alloc_ns(), but not from the second
call in nvme_update_ns_info_block().  In particular, if the NSID becomes
inactive between the two commands, a storage device may return a buffer
filled with zero as per 4.1.5.1.  In this case, we can get a kernel crash
due to a divide-by-zero in blk_stack_limits() because ns->lba_shift will
be set to zero.

When creating ceq_0 during probing irdma, cqp.sc_cqp will be sent as a
cqp_request to cqp->sc_cqp.sq_ring. If the request is pending when
removing the irdma driver or unplugging its aux device, cqp.sc_cqp will be
dereferenced as wrong struct in irdma_free_pending_cqp_request().

It is found that in case of stock->nr_pages == 0, the memcg on
stock->cached could be freed due to its refcnt decreased to 0, which
made stock->cached become a dangling pointer. It could cause a UAF
problem in drain_all_stock() in the following concurrent scenario. Note
that drain_all_stock() doesn't disable irq but only preemption.

This problem is, unintentionally, fixed at 5.9, where commit
1a3e1f4 ("mm: memcontrol: decouple reference counting from page
accounting") adds memcg refcnt for stock. Therefore affected LTS
versions include 4.19 and 5.4.

For 4.19, memcg's css offline process doesn't call drain_all_stock(). so
it's easier for the released memcg to be left on the stock. For 5.4,
although mem_cgroup_css_offline() does call drain_all_stock(), but the
flushing could be skipped when stock->nr_pages happens to be 0, and
besides the async draining could be delayed and take place after the UAF
problem has happened.

Fix this problem by adding (and decreasing) memcg's refcnt when memcg is
put onto (and removed from) stock, just like how commit 1a3e1f4
("mm: memcontrol: decouple reference counting from page accounting")
does. After all, "being on the stock" is a kind of reference with
regards to memcg. As such, it's guaranteed that a css on stock would not
be freed.

It's good to mention that refill_stock() is executed in an irq-disabled
context, so the drain_stock() patched with css_put() would not actually
free memcgA until the end of refill_stock(), since css_put() is an RCU
free and it's still in grace period. For CPU2, the access to CPU1's
stock->cached is protected by rcu_read_lock(), so in this case it gets
either NULL from stock->cached or a memcgA that is still good.

The driver creates /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/mob_ttm even when the
corresponding ttm_resource_manager is not allocated.
This leads to a crash when trying to read from this file.

Add a check to create mob_ttm, system_mob_ttm, and gmr_ttm debug file
only when the corresponding ttm_resource_manager is allocated.

vhost_worker will call tun call backs to receive packets. If too many
illegal packets arrives, tun_do_read will keep dumping packet contents.
When console is enabled, it will costs much more cpu time to dump
packet and soft lockup will be detected.

net_ratelimit mechanism can be used to limit the dumping rate.

The session has a header in it which contains a perf env with
bpf_progs. The bpf_progs are accessed by the sideband thread and so
the sideband thread must be stopped before the session is deleted, to
avoid a use after free.  This error was detected by AddressSanitizer
in the following:

ui_browser__show() is capturing the input title that is stack allocated
memory in hist_browser__run().

Avoid a use after return by strdup-ing the string.

hist_browser__run isn't on the stack so the asan error looks legit.
There's no clean init/exit on struct ui_browser so I may be trading a
use-after-return for a memory leak, but that seems look a good trade
anyway.

So the real problem happened earlier: notice that items 4 (4k-12k) and 5
(8k-12k) overlap. Both are prealloc extents. Item 4 straddles i_size and
item 5 starts at i_size.

Item 5 in the log tree corresponds to item 183 in the filesystem tree,
but nothing matches item 4. Furthermore, item 183 is the last item in
the leaf.

btrfs_log_prealloc_extents() is responsible for logging prealloc extents
beyond i_size. It first truncates any previously logged prealloc extents
that start beyond i_size. Then, it walks the filesystem tree and copies
the prealloc extent items to the log tree.

If it hits the end of a leaf, then it calls btrfs_next_leaf(), which
unlocks the tree and does another search. However, while the filesystem
tree is unlocked, an ordered extent completion may modify the tree. In
particular, it may insert an extent item that overlaps with an extent
item that was already copied to the log tree.

This may manifest in several ways depending on the exact scenario,
including an EEXIST error that is silently translated to a full sync,
overlapping items in the log tree, or this crash. This particular crash
is triggered by the following sequence of events:

- Initially, the file has i_size=4k, a regular extent from 0-4k, and a
  prealloc extent beyond i_size from 4k-12k. The prealloc extent item is
  the last item in its B-tree leaf.
- The file is fsync'd, which copies its inode item and both extent items
  to the log tree.
- An xattr is set on the file, which sets the
  BTRFS_INODE_COPY_EVERYTHING flag.
- The range 4k-8k in the file is written using direct I/O. i_size is
  extended to 8k, but the ordered extent is still in flight.
- The file is fsync'd. Since BTRFS_INODE_COPY_EVERYTHING is set, this
  calls copy_inode_items_to_log(), which calls
  btrfs_log_prealloc_extents().
- btrfs_log_prealloc_extents() finds the 4k-12k prealloc extent in the
  filesystem tree. Since it starts before i_size, it skips it. Since it
  is the last item in its B-tree leaf, it calls btrfs_next_leaf().
- btrfs_next_leaf() unlocks the path.
- The ordered extent completion runs, which converts the 4k-8k part of
  the prealloc extent to written and inserts the remaining prealloc part
  from 8k-12k.
- btrfs_next_leaf() does a search and finds the new prealloc extent
  8k-12k.
- btrfs_log_prealloc_extents() copies the 8k-12k prealloc extent into
  the log tree. Note that it overlaps with the 4k-12k prealloc extent
  that was copied to the log tree by the first fsync.
- fsync calls btrfs_log_changed_extents(), which tries to log the 4k-8k
  extent that was written.
- This tries to drop the range 4k-8k in the log tree, which requires
  adjusting the start of the 4k-12k prealloc extent in the log tree to
  8k.
- btrfs_set_item_key_safe() sees that there is already an extent
  starting at 8k in the log tree and calls BUG().

Fix this by detecting when we're about to insert an overlapping file
extent item in the log tree and truncating the part that would overlap.

trace_drop_common() is called with preemption disabled, and it acquires
a spin_lock. This is problematic for RT kernels because spin_locks are

trace_drop_common() also disables interrupts, but this is a minor issue
because we could easily replace it with a local_lock.

The code in ocfs2_dio_end_io_write() estimates number of necessary
transaction credits using ocfs2_calc_extend_credits().  This however does
not take into account that the IO could be arbitrarily large and can
contain arbitrary number of extents.

Extent tree manipulations do often extend the current transaction but not
in all of the cases.  For example if we have only single block extents in
the tree, ocfs2_mark_extent_written() will end up calling
ocfs2_replace_extent_rec() all the time and we will never extend the
current transaction and eventually exhaust all the transaction credits if
the IO contains many single block extents.  Once that happens a
WARN_ON(jbd2_handle_buffer_credits(handle) <= 0) is triggered in
jbd2_journal_dirty_metadata() and subsequently OCFS2 aborts in response to
this error.  This was actually triggered by one of our customers on a
heavily fragmented OCFS2 filesystem.

To fix the issue make sure the transaction always has enough credits for
one extent insert before each call of ocfs2_mark_extent_written().

The library supports aggregation of objects into other objects only if
the parent object does not have a parent itself. That is, nesting is not
supported.

Aggregation happens in two cases: Without and with hints, where hints
are a pre-computed recommendation on how to aggregate the provided
objects.

Nesting is not possible in the first case due to a check that prevents
it, but in the second case there is no check because the assumption is
that nesting cannot happen when creating objects based on hints. The
violation of this assumption leads to various warnings and eventually to
a general protection fault [1].

Before fixing the root cause, error out when nesting happens and warn.

When l2tp tunnels use a socket provided by userspace, we can hit
lockdep splats like the below when data is transmitted through another
(unrelated) userspace socket which then gets routed over l2tp.

This issue was previously discussed here:

The solution is to have lockdep treat socket locks of l2tp tunnel
sockets separately than those of standard INET sockets. To do so, use
a different lockdep subclass where lock nesting is possible.
