Climate Groups

Jan Seidl edited this page Oct 11, 2021 · 3 revisions

This feature automatically creates climate groups for an area with all the cover entities for that area.

This feature will not create a group if there are no climate entities in the area.

unit_of_measurement of the created climate groups will be pulled from your Home Assistant configuration for temperature units

Automatic behavior

Climate groups will automatically turn on when area enters the configured state (default: extended) and turn off when the area is clear.

Integrating with non-smart fans

You can control non-smart fans by using a smart switch for fans (like the Lutron Caseta Smart Fan Speed Control Switch), a regular smart switch (for ceiling fans) or using a smart outlet (for all other plug-in fans).

You will also need a temperature sensor in that area and tie all together with the Generic Thermostat integration.
