Welcome to the Picostrap5-Child-MDB project! This project is an open-source child theme for WordPress, built on top of the Picostrap5 theme and incorporating the Material Design Bootstrap (MDB) framework.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.0 or higher
  • Picostrap5 theme (parent theme)
  • PHP 7.4 or higher
  • MySQL 5.6 or higher

Installation

  1. Download the Parent Theme: Ensure you have the Picostrap5 theme installed and activated. If not, you can download it from the https://picostrap.com/.
  2. Download the Child Theme: Clone or download this repository to your local machine.
    git clone https://github.com/livecanvas-team/picostrap5-child-mdb
  3. Upload to WordPress:
    • Navigate to wp-content/themes/.
    • Upload the picostrap5-child-mdb folder to this directory.
  4. Activate the Theme: Go to the WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Themes, and activate the Picostrap5-Child-MDB theme.

Usage

Once the theme is activated, it will automatically inherit styles and functionalities from the Picostrap5 parent theme. You can start customizing your site using the WordPress Customizer or by modifying theme files as needed.

Customization

To customize the theme, you can:

  • Modify SCSS: Add custom styles in the custom.scss file located in the child theme directory /sass.
  • Override Templates: Copy template files from the parent theme into the child theme and modify them as needed.
  • Add Custom Functions: Use the functions.php file in the child theme to add or override PHP functions.
