James and I have added the like_count column to the post table. Added a "Like:" field on each post to show the like count. We have also created a like button associated with the post that increments the like count each time it's pressed.
All of the above has been tested but the tests can be improved later and I feel it would be best to be working with a test database when testing rather than updating the real database.
