Example: When I open map that has it's layers in base64 encoding with whatever compression, then I open Preferences and I change store type to XML or CVS or whatever different, then I save map.

When I open .tmx file in text editor I see that preferences was totally ignored and previous format was used.

I think this is a bug and when I change layer format It should be reflected on saves afterwards.

The behavior of existing maps is intentional.
See menu Map->Map Properties->Layer Format to change the type of existing maps.

This has been introduced for people using tiled working on different projects, which have different map layer encoding preferences. So you only need to check once, when creating the map (and then the default applies)

I will need to change the Preferences UI to say "Default layer data format", or move this setting into the 'New Map' dialog. Might be worth breaking string freeze for it...

Ok, it makes sence. Any of two mentioned solutions would be great :)
