matrix-org/matrix-js-sdk#3901 rewrites receipt handling. After it has been merged, we will merge #11903 , which makes use of the new code.
This PR just adjusts some tests, some of which had bugs concealed by previous buggy behaviour, and some of which uncover slightly changed behaviour from the rewrite, so that the tests pass now, and will also pass when #3901 is merged.
This change is marked as an internal change (Task), so will not be included in the changelog.
