Visual Studio has the server explorer which allows developers to quickly connect to things like databases and run statements.
Visual Studio Live Share's "Share Local Server" feature allows secure sharing of database ports but as a accelerator we could provide the ability to perform a gesture such as a right-click context menu option to grab the port from the config and share it.
In addition, this accelerator could configure TCP connections for databases configured only for use with named pipes to reduce setup required by the host to share.

I'm going to close this issue since we haven't heard any customer feedback for this, and so I want to prune old feature requests. Please re-open it if this is still a meaningful request. Thanks!
