Also fixed any other breaking changes caused by upgrading the Android project (mostly Gradle issues).
Upgrading by accepting this pull request should be preferred even though it will break pre-1.12 Android projects using this plugin. Keeping the plugin up-to-date should be a priority as explained in the guide above, and it allows for easier development of the plugin in the future.
