Thanks! Looks like this changed as part of rust-lang/rust#62550, and I'm not sure if that was really intentional at the time, but it probably doesn't really matter. Just note that the pattern grammar hasn't been updated for slice patterns, so many other parts of it are no longer correct.
The grammar for patterns has fallen out-of-date, and needs a lot of work (and several other parts of the grammar). If you would be interested in helping to update it, let me know! See #739, #750 (or any grammar issue).
