To use the Whatscopy, follow these steps:

  • Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store Firefox Add-Ons
  • Enable the extension by clicking on the extension icon while using WhatsApp Web.
  • Refresh WhatsApp once after installing the extension

Usage 🧠

  • Open WhatsApp Web in your Chrome browser.
  • Hover over the message you want to copy.
  • Click on the copy icon that appears next to the message.
  • Paste the copied message wherever you need it!

Follow these steps to set up and build WhatsCopy on your local machine:

Prerequisites

  • Node.js (version 14 or higher)
  • Chrome Browser (for testing the extension)

Steps

  1. Clone the Repository:

    git clone https://github.com/sharan3102/WhatsCopy.git
  2. Navigate to the Project Directory:

    cd whatscopy
  3. Install Dependencies:

    npm install
  4. Build the Extension:

    npm run build
  5. Load Extension in Chrome:

  • Open Chrome Browser
  • Go to chrome://extensions/
  • Enable Developer Mode (toggle switch usually located at the top right)
  • Click on "Load unpacked" and select the Correct directory within your cloned repository.
  1. Test the Extension:
  • Open WhatsApp Web in your Chrome Browser.
  • Hover over a message to see the copy icon.
  1. Make Modifications or Add Features:
  • Feel free to modify the code or add new features according to your requirements.
  1. Contribute Back (Optional):
  • If you've made improvements or fixes, consider contributing back by forking the repository and creating a pull request.
