I tried to update the changelog following https://voxpupuli.org/docs/releasing_version/

bundle exec rake changelog
To use retry middleware with Faraday v2.0+, install `faraday-retry` gem
rake aborted!
  The "changelog" task is deprecated.

  Prefer "release:prepare" which manage all pre-release steps, or directly run
  the "release:porcelain:changelog" task.

I tried to run bundle exec rake release:porcelain:changelog but then the entire file is changed ..
What do I do?

It's best to copy the current changelog to HISTORY.md. The changelog generator should pick that up and only generate it in the new style for 3.0.0 and beyond.
