Welcome to the Arcology Wiki

Arcology is a project to develop a sustainable, autonomous, community home in New York City and Detroit that is a safe haven for creative projects, affordable living, and co-operative principles. We currently have two locations where we experiment with living with each other:

  • a 4-person home in the North End neighborhood of Detroit, cultivated by Adrian Laurenzi and Diana Post.
  • a 12-person home on the sunny top floor of an apartment building in Bushwick until March 2019, cultivated by Paul Pham.

Detroit Goals and Vision

An open source, affordable, and sustainable home renovation design to bring abandoned Detroit homes back to life as part of the community.

NYC Goals and Vision

In NYC, the project will go on a temporary but indefinite hiatus on March 31st, 2019, while Paul continues to connect with intentional living communities in the area and heal from lyme disease. Here are some communities that currently inspire us and where we will be applying to live and work.

Here are some meetups that we like and a good place to meet other folks interested in communal living

Wiki

This wiki will document how to operate an Arcology, including details specific to either the Detroit or NYC location, to aid in others starting their own living communities or taking over a location that has been "terraformed" for community living, such as the current location of the NYC Arcology at 303 Stockholm St.
