Arcology Operations Manual

Running an arcology effectively requires many different tasks to ensure that crew members and guests have an engaging time and are able to do good work.

Crew members are people who live and work in the space for more than a month. They have more of a say in how Arcology is run, assume more responsibility for the security deposit and taking care of the space, and also benefit from profits.

Guests come to us from Airbnb, Cryptocribs, Craigslist, or other sites. They stay for a few days, at most two weeks, and may choose to become crew members.

This manual condenses all necessary information in one place.

Guest Check-in

To prepare for every guest, we need to make sure to prepare the following. Some rooms (the private ones) will have two guests arriving.

  • There are fresh linens on their bed
  • Fitted sheet
  • Duvet cover on a comforter
  • Pillowcase (one for each guest)
  • Towel (one for each guest)

The apartment is unlocked now until we make an electronic lock. So guests won't need a key. (Remove the mention of this in the Airbnb listing)

Post-It Notes

Put two post-it notes (on the kitchen shelf in Apt 4B).

One is in the entryway, to let them know whether to turn left or right

Hi Clelia, turn this way

And a second one on their door, with the guest's name, the bed number, and the date they are arriving.

For example:

Clelia
7P (private room)
Sep 1

or this for an upper bunk (U) or lower bunk (L)

Clelia
5L (lower bunk)
Sep 1

Guest Check-out

When stripping the sheets off the bed, turn around the mattress and pillow and report any new stains or damage to the bedframe or furniture to the house captain.
