--faux_align, -fa

Available from version 1.3

Description

Creates a meaningless alignment out of a collection of sequences. Gaps are added into each sequence at random to bring each to the appropriate length.

Arguments

Length ( int )

Optional. Specify how long the final alignment should be. If the value is less than the length of the longest sequence, than the longest sequence length will be used.

Usage example 1

Passing in no 'length' argument will produce an alignment as long as the longest input sequence (200, in this case).
