Release 3.3.0 - Roadmap

Create stable 3.3.x branch

• create branch
• make it protected
• set up Codacy, Drone as required status
• change drone.yml 3.3.0RC1 #2936
• change getBranchName.sh 3.3.0RC1 #2936

Bump

• release new library version & use this is in app
• Bump version name and version code in build.gradle files
• Update CHANGELOG.md adding new features 3.3.0RC1 #2936

Test app with all supported Android version

• access all activities
• auto upload
• upload / download files/folders
• use external sdcard
• what's new slides correctly shown on first start

All tests on

• Android 4
• Android 5
• Android 6
• Android 7
• Android 8

• Verify that the new version number is shown in settings 3.3.0RC1 #2936
• Verify that logging is enabled
• Tag new version as rc-3.3.0-01 with private dev key (not on github)
• Build and release to Play Store as beta release and
• Publish it on f-droid as optional release: edit metadata and open new merge request on gitlab
• Verify that it is shown on f-droid (within 24h)
• Publish APK (generic) to https://download.nextcloud.com/android/

RC2

• Verify that the new version number is shown in settings
• Verify that logging is enabled
• Tag new version as rc-3.3.0-02 with private dev key (not on github)
• Build and release to Play Store as beta release and
• Publish it on f-droid as optional release: edit metadata and open new merge request on gitlab
• Verify that it is shown on f-droid (within 24h)
• Publish APK (generic) to https://download.nextcloud.com/android/

RC3

• Verify that the new version number is shown in settings
• Verify that logging is enabled
• Tag new version as rc-3.3.0-03 with private dev key (not on github)
• Build and release to Play Store as beta release and
• Publish it on f-droid as optional release: edit metadata and open new merge request on gitlab
• Verify that it is shown on f-droid (within 24h)

Final Release, after two weeks time (max) of latest RC release

• Bump version name and version code in build.gradle files Stable 3.3.0 #3056
• update Changelog.md Stable 3.3.0 #3056
  • also update Changelog.md on master branch Changelog 3.3.0 #3057
• update translations from transifex Stable 3.3.0 #3056
• Verify that the new version number is shown in settings
• Verify that logging is disabled
• Test that what's new is shown correctly on upgrade
• Tag new version as stable-3.3.0
• Create maintenance branch as stable-3.3.x
• Build and release to Play Store as stable release and
• Update Play store changelog based on condensed CHANGELOG.md infos
• Verify that it is shown on f-droid (within 24h)
• Publish APK (generic) to https://download.nextcloud.com/android/
• Delete previous stable release maintenance branch stable-3.2.x
• provide new screenshots for an animated gif for https://nextcloud.com/install/#install-clients to @jospoortvliet
